Congrats to Lloyd. Great effort on his part.

As for the 2nd semi, "May the best Dan win".

Lloyd should jump from unranked to low 900's and will then probably get himself a main draw in most 10Ks

Would have thought, seeing a tiny bit of his play and given his university career, that Mr Glasspool should be at least a Challenger player in time.

At the very least, Bob's got him marked as a coming top 500 player

I'm not.  I feel the other Dan is the more deserving.  I gave up supporting Dan Evans a while ago.  However, I fear you will get your wish!

I would find it nearly impossible to root against Mr Smethurst, who always comes across as such a thoroughly decent sort, in a match. But at least in a GB v GB match, there are positives to be taken either way - and I can well understand why people would like to see Mr Evans continue to win and have a go at re-establishing himself in the upper echelons.

Dan S breaks back immediately 1-1

Both players with bps in the next two games but neither can convert 2-2

Dan S saves more bps but finally Evo converts 2-3*

Dan S breaks back immediately 3-3
