Week 29 - Challenger ($50,000) - LG&T Tennis Challenger, Binghamton, NY, USA (hard)

The story so far today:

L16:  (WC/1) Kyle Edmund WR 113 defeated (WC) Noah Rubin (USA) WR 696 by 7-5 8-7(3) 6-4

*****

QF:  (WC/1) Kyle Edmund WR 113 vs Mitchell Krueger (USA) WR 287 (CH = 279 in May)  (at least I got that right in my earlier deleted post! wink )

QF:  (6) Brydan Klein WR 173 defeated Freddie Nielsen (DEN) WR 263 by 2-6 6-3 6-4

*****

Being a bit presumptuous, I know, but

SF:  (WC/1) Kyle Edmund WR 113 or Mitchell Krueger (USA) WR 287 vs (Q) Sekou Bangoura (USA) WR 535 (CH = 495 earlier this month)

SF:  (6) Brydan Klein WR 173 vs (2) Bjorn Fratangelo (USA) WR 125 (CH = 122 last month)

For those unaware, Kyle's match has been brought forward to 5.30pm local time (10.30pm here) and is going to be played on court 1 - so it will still be streamed.

strange scheduling - why not start it now on court 1 with enough time to play a third set before it gets dark if required?!

Thought that myself.  I know that there are spectators who have paid to watch a full schedule but putting Kyle in a position where he might potentially have to play two matches in successive days seems entirely unfair.

Probably been mentioned a 1000 times, but who's Kyle's current coach?

Kyle *2-0

Just keeping the ball in play has been enough for an early break.

5-2* - eventually. . . . a bit of a struggle that one. And once again I have to go. Keep it up, Kyle.

Serve not firing on all cylinders at the moment but Kyle does enough to hold for 5-2*
