Although James is a clear underdog today, if he can somehow grab a win he has a great shot at QFs (as others have said).

Haha, nicely dine sir. Wonder how it feels for James to be in an ATP tournament by right. 1st round losers here will get virtually the same prize money as the winner at Binghamtome does. So make hay whilst the sun shines Wardy!

Financially entering here may have short term benefits.

But logistically, strategically ( and thus possibly longer term financially ) I remain doubtful and a bit confused as to James coming here straight from the Davis Cup. With the rankings for the US Open entry list already determined ( he will be in the MD ) that's not an issue either.

Hope he can turn this match round though and go on to show that it had real merit to come here.
