With 2 matches (involving Finn and Jack Molloy unfinished yesterday) all the other seeds survived round 1. Jack Draper earns a second round match against his elder brother Ben
Max was able to get the better of Finn, albeit with the match ending prematurely as Finn retired at 5-1 in the final set, while Ben won the Draper contest fairly easily, to take on the one foreign interloper

Is Max the guy that has been much touted as our next big hope?
Yes in some quarters - see for example http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t55901170/boys-girls-nike-junior-tennis-international-masters-usa-u12u/ for an appreciation of him as a top under 14. Max only returned fully from a lengthy back problem in May (which kept him sidelined since October, bar one match at Easter), and this is the first tournament since then when he has got the sort of results we would have expected a year ago.
