Am I right in saying if Marcus wins the tournament and gets to the the semi in Ireland he ll be at a career high and will break the top 300 with a win there?

So Dan's winning run extends to 9 matches. Can he make it a perfect 10/10 in the final?
That win should see him rise to the Mid-400s before the 8 points from Vancouver drop off on 03/08. Not bad from WR763 on 29th June!

Think he's withdrawn from Dublin

and the fact that he has lost the opening set 6-2

Cox looking good now, serving up *4-2 in the 2nd set.
Willbomb's serve looks to have been pretty poor, he's lost as many points on serve as he's won!
So we seem to be heading for an All-Dan final tomorrow!

Dan Cox won convincingly, 6-2 6-3, sixty-two points to thirty-five

Cox actually really needs a few better wins - he's got his huge 29 pointer coming off next week, and hasn't been able to get much going recently . ..

SF:  Dan Evans WR 631 defeated (1) Jordan Thompson (AUS) WR 243 by 5 & 3
SF:  (2) Dan Cox WR 333 defeated (3) Marcus Willis WR 381 by 2 & 3

ergo the battle of the Dans:

Final:  Dan Evans WR 631 vs (2) Dan Cox WR 333

Evo leads the head-to-head by 4-2.  Dan C hasn't beaten him since 2012 & Evo's most recent win was on grass in the Nottingham Challenger last year.

hard to say who will but I think Evans is better on grass. Coxy should be ranked higher than 333

I suspect Marcus may be slightly injured or fatigued, given his singles and doubles performance and his withdrawal from Ireland (pure speculation)

Once again I find myself a little bit torn on this one. I love the way Evo plays, and his natural talent is there for all to see, but Cox is such a tenacious guy and works so very hard with arguably a lot less natural ability than others. Coxy probably needs the extra points for the win that little bit more than Evo right now, but then the sooner Evo gets back up the rankings and playing on the bigger stages the better. I just don't know!

Well done to all the finalists - perhaps especially the second seed, whose consistency sometimes feels a little underrated.

Edit: Post written before I'd seen the post above!
