QF: NJOZE, Mirabelle (GBR) 815 lost to SHINIKOVA, Isabella (BUL) 1 397 6-3 6-7(4) 3-6

That's a much closer result than the last time they played, so it looks as if Mirabelle is still making progress. Taking the top seed so close suggests she could well be collecting a title or two before the year ends.

Another quarter final and so close. But she is slowly playing better against these higher ranked players so surely a semi final spot must be very close now. This is another good week for her and another step forward.

Pity, but most certainly heading in the right direction with her game and as said her ranking will take care of itself and should certainly generally continue upwards too at a decent rate.

Definite and consistent progress being made there on Clay and Hard courts. The experience she's gathering will do her enormous good. It's now just a matter of time.
