Farris trying his hand at a Challenger? I hope he has a good run here and defies his rather rusty Futures form.

Also, Bangoura is WR 545 according to my sources...?

Stircrazy a little too used to looking at doubles rankings I think, for which the above would be true! :)

Er, no:  I've just double-checked & his doubles ranking according to the ATP, which can be confusing, I admit, because a player's singles ranking, where he indulges in both disciplines, is not always the default, is only 737, with a CH of 728 last December! confuse

According to ATP:

Bangoura's doubles ranking is 261 with a CH of 223.
His singles ranking is 545 with a CH of 497 last October.

Either that or the Internet is broken.

Er, the site you posted, SC, gives me a doubles ranking of 261, as listed at the top as a singles ranking. Don't see any 737 . . . ???

Her, actually, & no, I'm not, since I'm not serving time at Her Majesty's pleasure (suggest you check the actual meaning of "stir crazy")! wink  I replied on the assumption that murray_2k9 was referring to the facts I'd given for Farris without bothering to check on Bangoura, whose entry is a prime example of the confusion to which I referred earlier & which I've now corrected, not a reflection of the number of times I look up doubles rankings.  It certainly accounts for Bangoura's presence in qualies rather than the main draw!

Good win for Farris, defeats Bangoura 75 46 63

Now plays Uchida, former JWR 3, who had a much quicker 61 62 win over a WC.

Farris leads by a set, 6-4

Nice little achievement there, first time coming through qualifying of a challenger.
