That win for Dan (combined with making FQR at Wimbledon) should see him leap up around 250 places in the rankings from his current position of WR761 to around 510-515 And with only 8 points to defend (coming off at the start of August) for the next 10 months, I'd expect to see that rise continue. Well done Evo
Forgot about the Wimbledon points not being added yet, so yeah close to the top 500 now. Hopefully see him finish the year inside the top 300 with a crack at qualifying for the Aussie Open.

I only realized when I was looking at his points breakdown on the ATP site. So all in all a very solid couple of weeks for Dan. 43 points on the board and, as I say, nothing to defend after 3rd August until next May (!). I think 300 by year end is a thoroughly reasonable aim for Dan, and who knows, with a bit of luck and a bit of graft, he may climb higher

Yeah it is "hopefully" a pessimistic target but you never know with Dan. He is going to be ranked about 380 in the race and about 20 points off being in the top 300 for the race so a good showing next week and he could be close to being there for the race. Then he can hopefully start to look at maybe some challenger qualifying in the pre US Open series, once he is around 300 in the rankings he can start to get some DE in the some challengers going on recent weeks.
IMO it is a really good sign that Evans managed to regroup mentally after missing those MPs. We have seen far too often situations like that where his head drops then he quickly loses the third set.
That win should take him to about 580 in the ranking, one postion above a nobody called Juan Martin Del Potro.
With his Wimbledon Q points to go on as well, I make it he'll be closer to about 508 in the rankings come Monday week.
