Many congratulations to James. Wonderful to see he won today. He obviously had a master plan, no point in just scrapping into the top 100 at some challenger and then losing the status a week or too later. Do it in style at the biggest tournament in his home town, and make sure you will stay inthe top 100 for a while.

No reason now why he can't make the 4th round.

Just caught up.

GREAT result for James. There's nothing more I can say that hasn't already been said, so I'll just echo everyone else's sentiments.

Not to be for Aljaz, but Troicki is a tricky opponent so no shame in losing that.

Two men in the 3rd Round! And a very winnable tie for James in the last-32...

And Dreddy currently sorting out Nadal. Ward Murray Quarter final anybody. Who would be backed then? Playing the long game here. Verging on getting carried away ha

Yep! Game of the championship, Brown on fire, Nadal decent but blasted away. But big news of the day, James silences the doubters and becomes a top 100 player, pretty good championship for the Brits thus far!

Not to re-open a can of unwanted worms, but I think it's hard to argue now that James hasn't justified his wildcard.
He's exactly the sort of player who thrives on the big crowds, big stage, big matches. So, so happy for the lad

Wardy has got our Steven tweeting hard this afternoon biggrin

He points out that Wardy is the first British WC to make R3 since 2005 (some guy called Murray!) smile

Oops. someone noticed wink (I posted here during the match too but that was probably half a dozen pages back now)

Actually, it's the first time I've managed to watch more than a few minutes of tennis at a time for weeks but I wasn't going to miss watching Wardy's big chance to crack the top 100 for anything! It certainly reminded me of why I like following tennis so much when I can. Incredibly happy for Wardy (and his dad!) - all of us here who have been following him for years have at least some idea of how much effort and sacrifice it has taken to get him to this point.

Hello, stranger!  Where've you been hiding these past few months?

James could win 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 and I'd still find it incredibly stressful. So glad that he was able to pull it out of the bag today, cement that top-100 spot and also to have a crack at R3. Pospisil is winnable and a win would be very helpful points-wise of course, but in the short-term that's the monkey off the back. His first set today was some excellent tennis.

What a day of tennis and sadly I missed most of it. But I am so happy for Wardy. He really does love the big stage and the crowd support. Saw a few minutes highlights and he was whipping up the volume level like a DC tie.

Just fantastic.

Was an amazing win. I got my first visit to Wimbledon today with my job and tried to catch James' match in between interviews and match practises. I was watching Posposil game which was right next to James' court and when he won I stood up and cheered clapping forgetting I was on another court!

I believe he can win the next game. Pospisil is a dangerous player but his game is more suited to hard courts. He's been carrying an injury so will be interesting. What's even more of an incentive is if he wins he will play the winner of Troiki/Brown for a place in the quarters! Now who would of thought that!

I think James making the Top 100 will be similar to when Elena and Anne did it. They hovered just outside for so long but when they finally Brock in they soared up to Top 50

And maybe he'll send a little flowery thank you card to David Ferrer

Yep the timing of David's withdrawal was perfect, just after they released the OOP. But massive congrats to the gooner, finally gets the top 100 spot, with real prospects of winning at least one more match.
