Wardy saves a break point at *1-1 in the 4th. Could be a crucial hold, needs to make sure this set doesn't get away from him and keep the pressure on Vesely
I saw the first couple of sets of this match (the first time I've had a chance to watch more than a few minutes of tennis at a time for weeks, sadly, but at least I picked a good couple of sets to watch!) and was seriously impressed with the way he played - not least hanging in at 40-0 on Vesely's serve and winning 5 points in a row to take the 1st set and then the comeback in the 2nd set tiebreak, plus not suffering an adverse reaction (not beyond one df anyway!) to losing that game where he had all those break points. Had to miss the 3rd set, but settling down to watch the 4th. Did he get a bit tentative in the 3rd set or did Vesely just open up a bit?
James needs a win today to be effectively certain of making the top 100 even if he's 'virtual' top 100 already (as I'm sure has been pointed out somewhere in the previous 26 pages of this thread! ) so I hope he can get himself over the line here - if there's ever a perfect time to do it (on TV at Wimbledon, just before the biggest DC tie of recent times), this would be it, though it may not help that he is no doubt fully aware of that!

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
He was breezing through his service games in the first two sets - didn't so much as face a break point. Seems to be a struggle in every game at the moment. I'm only half-watching as the other eye is on Murray so don't know if that's down to Ward or Vesely stepping up his return game.
On other side of the coin he was often getting into Vesely's return games in the opening two sets but I'm not sure he's even had a break point since. It's all turned around.

Having to stave off some BP's again, really tight stuff. But eventually Ward gets the hold and is now 2 games from the Top 100 and a place in the 3rd Round of WIMBLEDON! 4-1*
I have no idea how he held serve there. Saved so many break points. Vesely is 1/10 apparently.
Two games away, but every service game is a battle. I'm sure he would kill for a couple of straightforward service games from here.
Amen to that. My work computer isn't letting me view the live feed from the BBC so I'm just sat watching the live scores and 'squeezing my ass' on every point.
A couple of big service games would be just what the DR (and everyone on this forum!) ordered
