Made the final of Halle where he lost to Fed in two close sets. Lost his first match at Nottingham but it has been described by those who watched it as a pretty obvious tank. So while not the worse draw possible it certainly isn't a good one.
L128: (WC) Liam Broady WR 181 vs Marinko Matosevic (AUS) WR 138 (CH = 39 in February 2013)
L128: (LL) Luca Vanni (ITA) WR 113 (CH = 100 last month) vs (WC) James Ward WR 110
L128: Radek Stepanek (CZE) WR 202 (CH = 4 in November 2012) vs Aljaz Bedene WR 74
L128: (25) Andreas Seppi (ITA) WR 27 (CH = 18 in January 2013) vs (WC) Brydan Klein WR 177
L128: Aleksandr Dolgopolov (UKR) WR 75 (CH = 13 in January 2012) vs (WC) Kyle Edmund WR 101
All but Liam in the bottom half of the draw. I'm not sure that's as good a draw as it looks on paper for Aljaz: grass is not his favourite surface & "Ugly Mug", though he may be 36, can still play a bit on it...
Edited to reflect Ferrer's withdrawal, as per recent posts.

Terrible 1st match for James. Was praying he would get a winnable match to start as he badly needs the points but be surprised if he were to upset Ferrer. We can always hope James thinks it is the Davis Cup and brings the match play he usually performs at that event.
Chance for Kyle against Dolgopolov. It's a grand slam so never easy matches in reality. A win here should cement Kyles place in the top 100 if I am correct. So no pressure then Kyle. Just win please :)
I would doubt Kyle feels any particular pressure at all about the top 100 ( unlike possibly another Brit ! ), it will come soon enough and much more I would hope, so he will indeed just be looking for the win, and it could be a lot worse than the unpredictable soul that is Dolgopolov. I would certainly have been saving one of the "disbelief"s
Overall it's probably fairly balanced with James getting it tough and Seppi also likely to be a very tough one.
