Fantastic wins for Corrie unsung hero! Milton at last maybe realising his own talent and Evans got through a match and much needed points

Can someone advise the points for winning a round

8 points for winning in Q1, 16 for winning in Q2, 25 for qualifying.

Just got back from Roehampton. Watched Milton, Evans & Corrie. Saw a little of Cox as he was adjacent to Evans.
I thought Milton did really well he looked under pressure early on but kept in there and got what he deserved. I think it might have been the second game that hernych won of the second set. When Herbych hit an over the head shot which bounced up was going to go over the end makeshift fence but Milton somehow manage to jump and while falling into said fence/barrier lobbed hernych. This epitomised Miltons never give up attitude and make them play one more shot. He also made some great passing shots.
I thought Evans match was a bit scrappy at time and you could argue could have gone either way. But Dan hang in there when he needed and did what he had to. I thought his serve was pretty decent, better than when I saw him the other week at Surbiton.
Corrie was pretty comfortable I assume the other chap is mainly a clay court player. I left before the end at 4-1 I think as it was a foregone conclusion the result.

Well CD's advice was spot on. Spent the day down at qualifying and throughly enjoyed it. Slightly disconcerting to get something for nothing.

Richard Gabb was outgunned, Milts looked like he was in similar trouble, not at all happy with his first serve but after loosing the first set took a trip to the little boys room and came back a man. Played nicely from that point on, worked his opponent around to open gaps and then played into them. After the first set cobwebs he looks in good form and up for more.

Dan, I see it now, he was great to watch. posposil hit a left handed forehand a couple of times, the first time Dan lost the point but turned round to his friends saying "did you see that!!!". At no point did he look like he was going to loose, played some real quality tennis in parts, could have finished things off a little quicker in the second, ie broke but then broken, the tie breaks were both pretty straight forward.

Unfortunately missed Ed Corrie as by the time he got on it was passed my bedtime.

The weather is much better tomorrow it should be well worth the trip.

Very good from the guys, the to me pretty pleasing number of grass court ranking "upset" wins carrying on into Wimbledon qualifying.

Good to see Mr Evans using his talent - and well done, Mr Corrie! Super to have a Brit with a comfortable win like that.

Watched Alex Ward as not seen him play before.  Basically outgunned but moves well and powerful shots.  Lots just out as assume he felt he had to go for the lines.  Great on court attitude.

Enjoyed Evo's match today, his head seemed largely in the right place.  Went for a couple of glory shots when trying to serve it out and once broken looked a bit sloppy for a couple of games but got back on song just in time to force a tie-break and fly through it.  Had forgotten what a wonderful sliced backhand he possesses and how instinctive his movement is when fully engaged in a match.

Watched a bit of Dan Cox.  Played well but again lots of balls just out as I assume felt had to go for the lines against a fairly strong opponent.

Glad you enjoyed it, Oakie

And what was not to love???? Managed to make it down for some of the day and the lads did great - three excellent victories, well deserved. Big smiles all round.

And Dan Cox's match was FAR closer than the score gives credit for - very tight and even, overall, and if Dan hadn't done a few of the worst volleys known to mankind on a couple of key (easy) points in the first set, it might possibly have been a different story (the wally-volleys also rather shot himself in the foot going forward as he now wouldn't come to the net to finish the easy points but had to go for the line from the back).

(Alex's was rather disappointing, to be honest, pretty one-sided, way too many errors, not his best tennis by a long way. Gabb obviously retired - hope he's OK - but his opponent is a class act).

Looking at those I would say Ed has a great chance simply because Munoz de la Nava was playing in the final of a clay court challenger only a few hours ago. Decent draw for Evo and Milts while Bloomers is certainly capable of causing an upset. Rotten draws for Gabb and Cox and so so for Ward.

You got that pretty much spot on, RJA smile

I think you are seriously guilty of underselling that point. It was absolutely amazing, one of the most remarkable shots I have ever seen on a tennis court. If Andy Murray had done that at Wimbledon they would still be replaying it in 50 years.

The ball must have been close to 10 feet off the ground when he made it contact with it. He did immensely well to even get a racket on it, getting it back into court was miraculous and to actually hit a winner, I just don't have the words to describe it.

Decent win for Corrie on one hand given de la Nava is no mug on grass, indeed he taught Evo a lesson in qualies a few years ago. However on the other hand it's an expected victory given DdlN can't have even practised on grass in 2015.

Hear, hear.

Was practically horizontal but airborne, falling over the rolled up court covers; hernych looked absolutely gobsmacked (and smiled) and josh just looked cool. as though it was all part of the regular day job
