Just got in from Physio treatment - it looks like that first set was very tight. Come on, Evo, you need to break back ASAP.

 Hope all is well Maddie.

Rotator cuff problem - and I haven't been playing tennis, I assure you!

Not looking good at the moment, although Evo does cling to his service game. Down 2-5* in set 2

In my view, based on yesterday's match, fitness - at the level required here - is an issue. That takes time and resolve to build and he admits in his Mail interview to having become less than motivated while unable to play. He also looked rather more filled out that when I saw him last.

Two sets down. 6-2 in the second. My ship is sailing. Hopefully Dan's isn't just yet.

I'll be back later when I'm back onboard. Ciao for now.

Broken in the opening game - think he's almost done here.

I haven't written him off yet. (But I'm not there to see so poor judge)

Just about to succumb to doom and gloom when Evo got broken in the first game of the 3rd set.
He has, however, broken back so is now serving at *30-30, 1-1

I doubted that myself, but checked and it states, in print, that the final qualifying matches (at Wimbledon alone I think) are best of five

Always has been best of five in Wimbledon qualies. Certainly in my living memory. I think it's great personally!

Yes, it's always been that way I think. For me it makes Wimbledon men's draw the hardest of them all to qualify for. Part of the tradition I think, like best of 5 set men's doubles in the main draw (weather permitting) and proper best of 3 set men's doubles in the qualies (which still seems odd to me these days!).
