RE: Week 25 - ATP 250 - Nottingham - Grass

Good GB team strategy with Andy giving Muller an additional set of grass match play though ultimate disappointment

It's standard for a 48 player main draw, Jeff.

 I fully appreciate that

Plays Bemelmans next after the Belgian beat Klein 3 and 3.

Disappointing result for Brydan given the form he's been in recently, but I'll let him off this once...

Dan S is at *5-5 in the opening set against Nguyen.

Why is it that Luke gets all these fantastic wins when there are no points available.

Bolt has been playing well recently so that is a very good result indeed.

This could be good - after all, maybe it just confirms that Brydan is made for grass and not this indoor-coz-i'ts-raining-sort-of-grass-event

Brilliant results from Dan S and Luke - and , yes, wouldn't it be nice if Luke got just SOME points for his efforts, but guess  he will, at some time....

Without wishing to take anything away from Luke I have discovered a little fact that puts this result in context. Alex Bolt has never played an indoor tournament in his professional career, or indeed at junior level. I would also guess that being an Australian he would have played almost exclusively outdoors as a kid.

Marzi lost 4 and 4

Liam has dropped the first set on the tie break. He led *5-2 in the breaker but lost the next 5 points disbelief

Going by what one of our number was saying last week about Evo ( lost 5 points in a row from *6-3 as I recall ), such events as this in a tiebreak are so rare that Liam must have "choked".

In truth of course all we have is a run of points  lost by Liam - 2 on serve, 2 against and finally with serve. such runs of points in tennis, including in TBs, even in otherwise close matches, being so very far from that rare.

Pity though that he didn't manage to seal that first set.

Liam lost in straight sets. Don't think he's broken serve in his past 3 matches now
Badly needs to get some confidence back!
