Frustratingly for Heather is had she won yesterday she would of got a free pass to semis as the Russian has pulled out

The ATP livescore app is a pain. They take a match off live scores, but don't immediately put it on completed matches. I had to go out for a short while and Jo's match has disappeared - I assume she lost?

 

Edit - yes, posted while I was typing. Good week for her, though.

If the first set was sensational tennis from Jo, I'm afraid the 2nd was very ugly, and from what I saw, she rather lost her nerve on key points in the 3rd set, unwilling to attack when the opportunity arose, then seeing Bencic take control of the rally a shot or two later.

3rd set was a bit "old Jo" for my liking (nervous, forehand a bit shaky, missing opportunities) but she's had an astounding week, played a superb first set, and can get a days rest or so before cranking up for the main event.
