It's actually back-to-back career best scalps, as that previous best of WR34 was against Zarina Diyas in R1 here.

The trouble for her now is that, with Kvitova out, she's running low on scalps for her hat-trick. She'll have to hope that Wozzer plays well enough to make the semis.

It seems the sixth seed, Angelique Kerber, has withdrawn with a viral illness, so Jo will face either a lucky loser (Monica Niculescu of Romania, WR 46) or CoCo Vandeweghe (WR 48) in the last 16. After her exploits in the first two rounds, either should be a piece of cake... wink

Bouchard is on a bad run. Bencic not a threat considering the players she has disposed already. Muguruza is the real threat.

Superb from Jo !!!!

Great to see this increasing consistency and increasingly at a higher level. I read that she said recently that she thought that it had really helped being properly fit for a really extended period.
