Freya is in my top ten for the year (in Sim's charts) and so I would dearly love her to have an injury-free and very successful next 6 months, because I am sorely in need !!!!
(However, if she'd rather take her time and do her own thing, and make her way happily along into the top 50 over the next 4-5 years, that would be fine too )
Agree about Freya. I think it's ridiculous that Emily is forced to play this tournament. She should have had a wildcard, imho to the main draw not the qualifiers.

Agree about Emily too.
It's ridiculous. She's the same ranking as Mandy, also had a good-ish couple of weeks on the grass, is our fourth (fifth?) player, has one of the best 'attitudes' etc. And she won a round last year. Why the difference? It's not as though there aren't enough WCs to go round.....
I also think it's 'disrespectful'.
I know it's an arguable point and easily crosses the line into nepotism but the French often give wildcards as a 'thank you' for service and in recognition of longevity (they're hot on that). As well as youngster with potential, of course.
Now, you might say that most of our players don't really deserve 'respect' because they haven't really done anything but it's all a matter of the big picture (after all, the management obviously haven't really 'done anything' either). But i think recognising effort and dedication over the years sends a good message to the younger ones and fosters a team spirit which is sadly lacking in the UK.
Touch Tennis have been amazing and have decided to stream next to the court so at least we can keep abit more updated! It seems Jasmine has won the first set 7-5 against Em, they said they'd stream the second here if anyone wants a look - http://mrk.tv/1GVxkyu
All the best to Jasmine in her future endeavours, but c'mon Em !
We have a disappointing enough number of players that give up early that Em contiinuing at the level she has is great to see and her inequitable treatment pretty disgraceful.
