Mirabelles partner was 756 in doubles so no disrespect to her at all, in fact they where seeded 3, but when you're playing in a 10k in the middle of nowhere it's who you can find.
Given that players in the 10ks scoot about a bit it's not surprising that partnerships aren't established.
Mirabelle's doubles ranking is somewhat flattering, with a large portion of her ranking rise based on walking over to the semi-finals of a domestic 25k, in which she was a wildcard, and got 18 points.
But good for her - she's subsequently been able to play a further 25k, gaining 9 more points, and now she's seeded in 10k doubles, which makes it fairly easy, some weeks, to win a couple of matches, and thus play 3 doubles matches a week, picking up points, some very small prize money, and tennis experience as she does so.
All told, a very good ROI from the LTA's 25k tournament in Barnstaple sometime in March or so. They should organise more of these tennis tournament thingies.

Good point but then again that can be said about all players. They all at various stages acquire points just like that. So she is no exception.
The key to doubles play once again is about the right partnership and their synergy.
I don't think Mirabelle is pinning her hopes on her doubles - sincerely hope not...... that girls is made for the singles court (although long my she enjoy her doubles, if she wants to, and it's a good training ground).
She's just got hammered in the first set, 1-6, by the top seed, WR 398
