Is it too late to "upgrade" him to an MD WC for Wimbledon ?
While I am sure that Josh would gleefully accept a main draw wild card I think it would be better for him to play qualifying.
Depends on whether potential ranking points or his bank balance is top of his agenda right now. As you say, taking all other things out of the equation, I am sure he would jump at the chance to play MD at a Slam just for the kudos and the experience. The way he is playing at the moment, if he gets a kind draw, I wouldn't put it past him to get a win either.

His short term target is to make GS qualifying - not too much to defend after the big points on grass, so realistically Aussie Open.

Saw he had a lot of points to defend around now. He is making a very fine effort to defend them as well. After that, the only way is up. Have you been there again today with Phil ? I see Phil is tweeting that Josh won despite playing with an infected foot.

The other side of the coin is a gets a bad draw and absolutely battered and then has to deal with all the media crap about why he had a wild card. He has some decent results but I think Wimbledon qualifying is the natural progression for him rather than being thrown in at the deep end.
Not bad eh !!!
Absolutely freezing !!!! But it was worth it, blisters to overcome, which had become infected shows the true strength and willpower shown by Milts this evening. Wanted the match called off at the end of the 2nd, after very annoyingly dropping his serve at the end of the 2nd. A sprinkling of strong support for him willing him on as well. Again some vintage stuff, and finger wagging, starting to learn from the master Marcus, lots of in running commentary, good fun. He also slightly miffed about not being on centre, and he ain't on centre again tomorrow. Just hoping his foot isn't too bad in the morning.
