Nice venue - the centre court had not been used before, but looked heavily marked after the end of play. It played pretty well.
Bambo made a slow start to the opening set and was chasing, but had plenty of chances to get back into the match. However McGee played the big points very well.
Second set was very even and when Luke broke back he was the better player. He had chances in the tie break, but unfortunately couldn't see it out.
Luke is in decent form and should climb the rankings quickly if he plays to that level regularly.
As for Cam - we missed half the game when Phil and I went to have a quick chat to the Skupskis. Cam didn't look comfortable on grass and was very disappointing.(we are not sure if that was his first outing on grass this season as most of his qualifiers were indoors).
Challengers are by definition a big step up from futures, young players really have to knock off a run of ITF tournament wins before stepping up, ie show they can dominate the 300-500 cohort before they can step up and start a run into challenger QF s and SF s, in that respect another good performance from Luke giving away 480 places in the rankings. I really hope he can afford to do the same U.S. ITF circuit in the summer he did last year with Liam and then go for challengers in the autumn, perhaps with CaM. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Cam has played a little on grass but not a lot, versus JWH, Nielsen, Jonny O and Bolt at Manchester and Surbiton respectively, his opponent today never let him into the match, just wasn't his day. Everyone gets battered from time to time even AM vs Federer last year, its how you bounce back that counts

Bambo's looking to play the British future events after Wimby, then again if possible team up with Liam and Hilts.
