You've got to admire that effort

Wow, wow, wow...   The man's playing out of his skin at the moment, even coming from a break down & 0-40 in the 12th game in the decider! twitch.gif  I felt he might stand a chance once he'd taken it to a tie-break.  Pity Evo couldn't have displayed some of the same fighting qualities!

QR1:  (qWC) Brydan Klein WR 188 defeated (q5) Steve Darcis (BEL) WR 76 by 6-4 3-6 7-6(7)

The match lasted two hours & 26 minutes!

Brydan wins 9-7. Great victory, after saving many MPs

Winning on grass against a top 100 player - he has to have a chance of getting into DC squad if Kyle isn't fit and James doesn't start winning .

all his stats are lower than Darcis, except winning saving break points!

I haven't really followed Brydan but his results are getting better and that is a corker ! What are the qualifying points on offer does he get anything for this win

7 match points saved and Paul Henri-Mathieu for a place in the main draw!

What a great result! Brydan really has found his groove. That should take him to about 170 in world. Tough game against Matthieu next but then again Darcis is a grass court player too so no reason why cant win this one.

Wow what a cracking win. Great fighting spirit. Good chance of making the main draw now.

Given his recent efforts, I do think Brydan's deserving of a Wimbledon WC and could win a round if he gets the right draw. Just wish some of our other players possessed half the mental fortitude that Brydan seems to have

Bar Brydan and maybe Josh it's been a bit of a disaster so far for Brits on grass. Maybe those ranked outside the top 400 should have concentrated on some weak ITFs to get their ranking ups. I'm not normally a fan of point chasing but with so many out of form you do wonder.

Fairly certain Brydan will catch James by U.S. Open rankings wise on this form.
