This is to be expected with players such as Naomi with "big weapons" that usually "misbehave" especially under pressure situations. Their ranking almost always never reflect  their level of play. Especially when such players play against juniors, lower ranked and/or defensive/counter punching oriented players who are prepared to just bid their time and wait for you to beat yourself with errors.

She has nothing to loose against Halep. I won't be surprised if she comes out swinging freely and really give a good showing against Halep.

 Or you could say it gives her a chance to strike while the iron's hot and not have too long to think about it. It wasn't a long match today so tiredness won't be an issue.

Thankfully this tournament is now a Premier so there is no longer the pathetic 15 points for a R1 win. Naomi gets a very useful 30 points to take a bit of the pressure off defending her Wimbledon points.
