Em having a mare, gets on the board with a break, and finally holds

2-3*

To be fair, Kontaveit is pretty damn good on this surface, as last week proved. She was absolutely battering the ball from what I can see from the corner of the men's stream, winners all over the joint.

Em loses 60 62. Heavier than I wanted to see, just overpowered by a very talented young player. Swirly wind which the Estonian was just hitting through, and nothing in the bag of tricks was working.

Overall a good day for GB though, two big wins. Let's see what Harriet can do - very tough ask for her as well.

So far at Surbiton, Josh Milton WR 319 ( CH 306 ) has won two matches to reach the QFs, adding 15 ranking points ( net 13 ) to probably reach a new CH.

Amanda doesn't lose any pts so is net 15 on 136pts. If no-one else moves she would be on 299 and ahead of EWS and Katy D.
