Hopefully the matches before will be different lengths ???
I guess it doesn't help but I asked a couple of random Surbiton club people what they thought and both said they thought programming two events on the same week was just plain daft.
Not bad actually, not particularly warm, but dry and sunny. There'll probably be some overlap, but not IDEAL. Jeremy Bates is here as well, so doubtless he won't be too chuffed either.
I know Jo's match has had to be rescheduled, but surely this was still avoidable.
How much consideration has been given to the obvious fact of many folk wanting to watch both, quite from some ( well certainly one ! ) having missed out late yesterday ?
On the face of it, pretty mad scheduling.
I do hope that that part works out better than anticipated, Phil, and that you have a generally good day.
Olga takes a tumble and Katy gets distracted and misses an easy ball into the space long. Seemed to lose a bit of focus in the next two points, being broken on a double
This was one of those weird ones where the losing player didn't actually play that badly. Katy hit the ball well, constructed some very nice points, she was just overpowered and outmatched from the back of the court. Olga was hitting nice and cleanly (for the most part, a few stinkers as well, particularly towards the end of the match), moving well, and playing the sort of big power tennis she is capable of from time to time (although still some way below the sparkling form of several years ago which took her into the top 40), lots of very nice winners off any ball that landed halfway between the base and service lines.
