... especially given that he plays Kudla next.

Dave played a really good game. So nice to see him playing well again, moving up the court, hitting through the ball..... and posing for all the photos at the end with each and every ball boy/girl

Myneni was having some problem with his knee in the final set but, to be honest, he was having some problem with dave's tennis the whole match so I don't think that mattered.

However, Kudla crushed Dan so maybe Dave should just enjoy tonight....

Saw Ed looking good.

And Alex Ward doing a serious practice training with Kozlov.

James managed to get himself on the wrong side of the whole female camp by him and Ebden refusing to warm-up alongside Em and Tamara - most of the courts doubled-up for the warm-ups but James and Matt weren;t having it (or not with 'girls' at any rate). Lots of whispering and snide comments . . .

Also saw Oli Golding, looking a little forlorn and on his lonesome, to be honest (although that might be me reading things into it).

Of the 16 junior USO winners between 1998 and 2013, 13 have gone on to top 100 careers. There's still time ...

13/16 now that's a statistic you have got to like! Who are the other 3, do they have anything in common?

You could even extend it back and say from 1993 to 2013, 18 of 21 made it.

 Lojda (2006), Golding (2011) and Peliwo (2012).

Just for anyone who's curious, the livestream for centre court shows the far seating stand, which is very much 'secondary' (far away, can't see scoreboard, difficult to get into). Hence, no one sits there.

On the other end (not shown because it's below the camera), are the main stands, which are twice/three times as big as the far ones, a lot more central in terms of access, far grander. These were pretty well populated, even yesterday. About 50 - 70 people minimum, and maybe 100 at times (especially when a large class of very well-behaved (but rather bored-looking) kids were there for an hour).

Ed Corrie and Josh Milton have started on Centre Court - they're on serve in the first set.

Dan Cox is about to start his game against the Belgian too.

Josh and Ed are 4-4 now as Josh manages to knock over one of the ball kids with an ace.

Ed has had an MTO.

I think that that ball kid has just lost consideration for a John Isner match.

You jest, but I saw that in Madrid a couple of years ago. Poor kid was in the corner with Isner serving. The corners of the arena were curved and the lad managed to place himself right on the focal point, so where ever the ball hit, it bounced straight back at him. He was only about 10 or 11.  After a couple of games, they swapped him fr a much older kid.

First set to Ed on a breaker. Josh had 6 BPs to Ed's one, but none were taken. However after 3 more BPs to Josh at the start of the 2nd, he finally takes one at the ninth attempt and leads *2-0.

Hope Ed hasn't done himself a nasty injury.

Oh dear - that must have been something pretty major, to force him to retire if he'd won the first set.

Did anyone see it on the stream? (or live?)
