Oh dear - that must have been something pretty major, to force him to retire if he'd won the first set.
Did anyone see it on the stream? (or live?)
Didn't see it, but he had been struggling throughout and took an MTO during the 1st set but carried on. I am hoping it is just a niggle and he is being cautious.
I would hope Ed is being cautious I'd imagine with Kyle and James being direct entry so Wimbledon this year that the Wild Cards will go to Brydan Liam and Ed.

James and Kyle will both need wild cards for Wimbledon.
James serve isn't at the races today so far too many second serves. Talking of serves anybody else notice the improvement in Josh Miltons. The improvement in his results recently seems to be linked to this. Another win and he's top 300 I believe.
To be honest, the way he's playing today (which ties in with how he was playing yesterday in the doubles for 95% of it), he might as well just do the decent thing and give his place to someone else.
And that's from a big James Ward fan..... :::::((((
