Does anyone know the reason Queens has been reduced from a 56 draw to a 32 draw and qualifying has gone from 32 to 16.

Considering there is now an extra week between the french and Wimbledon it seems likely that more players are going to want to play on grass this week, so this to me just seems a bizarre decision.

I am not sure if this is the right answer but I thought it connected from moving up from a 250 to 500 event.

Certainly makes it a far less appealing prospect for the general crowds...

I was thinking of going along on Sunday but if there's only four matches, I'm not so sure (depends on the four matches, of course)

Any hints on the Brum main draw WC's apart from the two non-Brits (Bouchard and Jankovic)? Not sure how many more there are to be given?

As neither entered, that would make sense.

Where will Naomi turn up? I suspect Birmingham like last year.
EWS has sneaked into qualifiers and I suspect a few more GB players will as well.

Hmm I see why you think that, but my reading of it is that Mike had tweeted a pic of a broken racket found in a bin at the ntc. Liam asked what Mike was doing at the ntc, and Mike replied that he'd been promised a surpise wc into Queens:

Naomi Cavaday and Em are in Birmingham qualies. Looks like the girls will be more roughly split this week. Makes sense are both entry lists are high so may as well try Burmingham qualies and hope or kind draw to yield more point and mullah.

The Wimbledon Wildcard Playoffs should be added, really, to the list of events for this week.

Don't know when the official entry list comes out (must be in a couple of days) but Lucy Brown is definitely playing.
