I've assumed I have the wildcards correct for Queens. If anyone knows the wildcards for Birmingham let me know. I'm guessing Konta may be the only Brit in the main draw.

Hewitt, Dino and Kyle are the WC's for Queens. Not sure Bedene will get in as a DA?

I took this to be Bedene wasn't playing Queens but some exhibition thing in Liverpool ?

Its the exhibition tournament run by Anders Borg now at Liverpool CC(previously at Calderstones Park) mainly a seniors event, but Neal and Ken often play. Jodie Burrage beat Tara last year.

Thanks.

Sounds like Bedene wants some guaranteed court time? (And appearance money presumably?) Would that make sense?

Re: Ilkley. Very disappointed how the dates have fallen this year. It's my local club (literally about 5 minutes from my house) and I'm gutted that for the first time it's on the Challenger tour yet 15th is the day I leave for six months for work.

I'll try and make the qualies and get some reports done.

Its a good job it's in the UK as they will get wildcards or qualifying wildcards. They could always get a qualifying wildcard for Birmingham like Katy did last year and made full use of it.

Yes. But I guess that doesn't help her point that the standard is terribly high - so even with a wildcard, your likely opponent will be someone very highly ranked.

As said before though, what did they expect if the federation very kindly put on rich pre-Wimbledon grass practice events for all and sundry?

a) we have a fairly stellar extended grass court season.

b) the much changed GB 2015 overall tournament schedule seems to adversely effect many ( quite likely most ) GB pros at almost all levels.

It would appear that the decision makers in GB tennis are much more concerned about a).

Is this the week of the Wimbledon qualifying wildcard play-offs?

On the women's side, you really have to tip your hat to the LTA. This represents marvellous husbanding of their scarce resources. They should now easily be able to get to the start of July, with half of the £5M annual budget for professional development spent - £2.5M - with rather less than £10k paid out from the Tournament Bonus Scheme to active players, freeing up the remaining £2,490,000 to be spent on more important things, like funding sinecures for those who have given up playing.

Yes, it will be the week of the Wimbledon Q WC play-offs, presumably in the latter part of the week.

Tara strangely has withdrawn from Ilkley to play in the 25k on clay???? in Sweden. Seems strange unless she's trying to force the hand of main draw wild card or perhaps she plans qualies at Birmingham then still be able to play Sweden when/if she is knocked out. Is that allowed two tournaments in one week as long as at different levels? Im sure Em did this once or something similar. And she would miss the play offs but maybe the assumption would be shed get a qual wild card based on going deep
