he was 30-0 up in the final game as well, and then the pesky frenchman won the last 2 points :(

Brad - the forecast is not great for tomorrow. He may not even get on court.

So my dream that the R32, R16, QF, SF and F will all be played on a glorious day of tennis on June 6th, this day after I return to Yorkshire and therefore am able to attend, might come true?? wink

That's a great win for Bambo

Seriously?

You think beating a South American clay courter who has never played a professional match on grass is a "great win"?

I wasn't aware it was his first match on grass, but he's at a careers high so clearly playing well. Also I'd challenge the idea he's just a clay courter, I remembered him reaching the SF of a hard court challenger recently and looking it up he's had better results on hard courts, certainly this year. I take your point though, lack of experience on grass obviously was a factor.

Fair point that he isn't just a clay courter and has played a lot on hard (I think he went to college in the US) but the primary point is that at 25 years of age this is his first professional match on grass and we all know just how much grass differs from other surfaces. As such Bambridge was heavy favourite.

The South American actually reached the quarter finals of Junior Wimbledon beating Raonic before losing to Tomic in three. Luke, like all British youngsters rarely ventures onto the surface. He did not play on grass at all last year. So there was little or no advantage to Luke. I think RJA should give the lad a break.

Cheers, Jaggy, I did wonder whether it was an attempt at humour, hence I simply made a statement. Maybe you are now attempting a save

Looking forward to your Sisling (sic) offering.

And good point, Dark Knight. A Junior Wimbly quarter-finalist is hardly a complete novice on grass . . .

I think Cam's doing a decent job for someone who, according to the ATP app stands at just 15cm tall!!
Hoping Evo can do the business today and qualify. Nothing against Bambo at all but I feel a good grass court season for Evo could be make or break (though I do hate myself for being so melodramatic)
Looking forward to seeing how our boys fare in the MD too, couple of matches there that are tough to call
