Ed broken at 4-2 James serving to stay in the match and Andy broke back to 3-3 all within the same few minutes....

Then in the blink of an eye James takes the second set 7-6 Andy one game from victory and Ed breaks back 3-4.

On serve at 4-4 in third, Wardy had a couple of break points in that game.

Disgraceful error on the FH though to go Adv Sijsling.

After Sijsling had advantage a couple of times he holds, and so into a tie-breaker we go!

Good win that (in spite of Sijsling's recent form - still has good pedigree), hopefully a confidence-builder too.

Good match to get under your belt early in the grass court season. Some coronary-inducing loose forehands when well placed in the rally aside, a decent performance.

Great that the LBs got the win in the doubles, 11-9 MTB

(Klein has his singles so he didn't need the doubles win too )

And Colin F and JP Smith, as well, of course . ....

Edit: which probably should have been in the doubles thread (cry) so I'll add:

Vamos, Marcus !
