Fantastic stuff from Tara. Hats off to her for pulling through. Thin line between awkward loss and fantastic win.

It's a shame Katy doesn't have a better serve for someone of her stature it's surprisingly weak. If she had Naomi on a good days serve she would be a top 150 player.

But that's like saying 'if Naomi had Katy's movement and balance, she'd be top 100'.

And don't quite know what you mean about her 'stature' -  Katy is only about 5 ft 6 or 7 or so (I'd have said). Naomi is over 6 ft. It's obvious a tall player should have a big serve advantage. Of course Katy's serve could get better (as could Naomi's use of her legs) but if it all was perfect, they'd all be top 20. I guess they all work on their game, weak and strong points, some areas with more success than others.

Meanwhile Tara, at least, seems to be doing well. 4-0 and serving.

It was a general point and a fair one I think. But pick holes in a general valid point if you like. You are good at that

Just out of interest when was the last time you saw Katy play?

I saw her play at Birmingham last year and her serve was not an issue. I know Katy had issues with the serve last year and was working on it.

I saw Katy in Feb in Glasgow I didn't think she has a problem with her serve.

In Glasgow 4 months ago in the flesh as opposed to the other 3 or 4 times on streams. I should clarify I mean in relation to the rest of her game in that she returns well and has some decent shots in her arsenal.

Shame for Em. That was Océane's first pro match on grass. If Em hadn't been having a torrid time in Korea up until a couple of days ago, she may well have beaten her . .

Now it's up to Naomi B tomorrow . . .

Given that all 7 Brits were heavily outranked by their opponents, 2 wins is a pretty good effort - especially as those two wins were both coming from behind which suggests that neither win was due to their opponent non getting to grips with a grass court.

Oceane should be good on grass when she is 'on' i think. Could be a real battle tomorrow. Alternatively she could struggle to find the court. Yes i do wish Em had quit while she was behind amd came home from Asia early to get proper time to prepare on the grass. But more events to come.

Em and Paszek save set points in the second to beat Fran and Cav 76(3) 75.

Nik and Tara should have been out of sight missing a heap of break points, but from 5-3* they got into trouble. In a tiebreak now.

Naomi and Pliskova won the first set but a break down to Jo and Sanchez in the second.
