Surprised Willbomb didn't get one isn't it his own club?

Ed was on my list - it will either be Bambo, Norrie, Rice or Smethy. Unless Gosea is across the water or I've missed some one.

Looks like Cav, Harriet and Tara have all got in direct for Surbiton. Katy has withdrawn which may suggest she has a wildcard for Nottingham.

Any news on Wildcards for Nottingham? I think Laura Robson may well be there. Jo Konta should get one and also Katy Dunne given she has withdrawn from Surbiton.

Like a blast from the past, verveandsolley returns. I see a few familiar names here from the GBTG board... I must admit to losing track a bit of what's going on with UK tennis, marriage does that for you. There was a time when I could pretty much quote our top 20 girls in ranking order... Anyway I digress.

Looking forward to Surbiton this weekend. Does the ladies quals start on Sunday? Looking at www.itftennis.com/procircuit/tournaments/women's-tournament/info.aspx
there are currently 24 players down for main draw, and 22 for quals of which 2 already have MD WCs. Assuming a few more WCs to be given, and the quals draw extending to 32 players in total, what do you think the chances are of #21 alternate getting into qualies? She only lives around the corner which is handy, plays at my club.

Anyone else going?

There have been quite a few late withdrawals mainly to move into Nottingham main draw. I suspect the young lady at your club has a good chance of getting in.

24 main draw - 4 wildcards to be allocated and then further 32. So I make her 5 out at present.

So Notts MD wildcards seem to be AggieRad, JoKo, Katy Dunne, and ANOther...

Are there any qualifying wildcards?

The usually reliable spiceboy on tennis forum is reporting that Watson has withdrawn from Nottingham.

The qualifying draw is out for Nottingham - with only ONE British player involved - Sarah Beth.

I guess the others are all down in Surbiton.

But it does seem strange planning . . .

Bambo and Smethers and Norrie are all in the Q draw (Farris over in Turkey).

So that leaves Rice or the 'unknown X factor'

(No sign of JWH in the qualies - don;t know if he's still injury plagued - can't see him having a wildcard but you never know . .. Or Josh G - ??? - throwing out a left field option?)

It's crazy the difference between entry lists for Surbiton and Ilkley in the women's. This week as far down as Jazzamay may end up in the main draw or certainly seeded to qualify yet next week not even Naomi makes qualifying. I'd take a guess we might see wild card in qualifying at Birmingham instead as for the likes of Cav Em and Harriet it might be more beneficial with a decent draw. It ll hard to see any points being won at Ilkley.

I ll guess JWH must have a wild card based in the fact that Surbiton men's struggles to fill the draw with Burton and Thornley entering singles.

Not sure if Lewis and Thornley will take that well () but there was still one spot left in the Surbiton qualies, (i.e. Coucaud got a bye), so - yes - obviously not a huge demand for spots.
