RE: Week 21 - Egypt F20 ($10,000) - Sharm El Sheikh (Hard)

I wonder if this might be the start of a more regular partnership? Seems to make sense as I imagine they both have similar aspirations in terms of progressing their respective singles careers. Either way 2 titles in 2 weeks is a decent return.

Marcus lost the 2nd set in a TB, 10-8

Very serve dominated match. Only 1 BP so far which is the one Marcus took in the 1st set.

I saw two match points for Willis come and go . . . shame. Allez, Marcus.

And we have a in the singles, too - eventually, with Dubail's service finally cracking under the pressure:

Final:  (1) Marcus Willis WR 410 defeated (4) Julien Dubail (BEL) WR 583 by 7-5 6-7(8) 7-5  smile

So there I am, preparing my "squeaky culo time" message when out of the blue, Marcus breaks again to take the match and the title 7-5 in the 3rd.

GET IN THERE.

Good job Marcus, now let's hope he can bring some good form to the grass court challengers.

Really makes a massive difference reaching semis versus going on to win the tournie. Hope Marcus can build on this and challenge his career high by the end of the grass court season!

Crazy isn't it. The amount trebles from QF to SF, and trebles again from SF to champion. By comparison, making the SF is the equivalent to making R2 of the lowest grade challengers, and winning the whole thing is equivalent to make the QFs of a mid-grade challenger.

Good stuff, very good week for Marcus.

Hopefully prove a very good time to be coming into form.
