RE: Week 21 - Egypt F20 ($10,000) - Sharm El Sheikh (Hard)

Dan is 3-0* up in the first set and Marcus is *2-1 up. Charlie & Robbie appear to have played their doubles last night and lost 2 & 1. Strange they played last night as it was Hossam's 3 game of the day.

Those will be probably the first real tests for Marcus and Dan. Here's hoping for an all-British final in Egypt (and perhaps a couple of wildcards next week...?)

Marcus and Mick are good friends, I believe, so that will be a fun match.

As above, good luck to all !

Well, that always helps smile

And Dan and Marcus won their doubles semi too (although the Ridouts lost theirs)

Just for the record:

SF:  (1) Marcus Willis WR 410 "defeated" (3) Mick Lescure (FRA) WR 579 by a walkover

Three walkovers (so far) in both the singles & the doubles!  Some kind of record or are there ulterior motives at work...?

seem to be a spate of withdrawals from the manchester challenger, so hoping Marcus will be given one of the WCs there now as other candidates now in the main draw. not sure about Dan though given his current ranking.

Yes, but more to it ( or certainly should be ! ) than current ranking. With his injury issues and past results and ranking, Dan's current ranking does not reflect his real ability or ongoing potential.

Would be good if both Marcus and Dan got in, but not sure what the overall position is or their chances.
