Robbie Ridout looks to be heading out, a set and break down.

Dan S is still a set down but he's 5-4* in the second, vital time.

...and takes it to 0. One set all. He's the last remaining Brit playing in Egypt this evening.

QF: (1) Marcus Willis WR 410 vs Giacomo Miccini (ITA) WR 1467 (CH 1027 in Nov 2011)
QF: (2) Dan Smethurst WR 564 vs Tommaso Lago (ITA) WR 1686 (CH 1670 earlier this month)

Both Italians got walkovers against seeded players today so will be fresh, but I can't see either of them putting up much of a fight against our lads.

Edit:  just correcting the spelling of Miccini's surname.

In the doubles, it's the Ridout boys who benefit from a walkover:

QF:  Charlie Ridout & Robbie Ridout UNR "defeated" (4) Thomas Bréchemier & Tommaso Lago (FRA/ITA) CR 3592 (1800+1792) by a walkover

Careful paulisi, you gave me a fright earlier. You said 'last remaining brit playing in singles' I immediately assumed Marcus had lost.

Was pleased to see he hadn't though

That was me! Sorry, the phrasing may have been a little misleading... wink

Given that Marcus and Dan should make it through to the SF, I wonder if they have been on to the LTA requesting wildcards for Didsbury, as they will not be back in time for qualifying given both singles and doubles are scheduled for Sunday.
