It's Canter, not Cantor, I think.

Indeed it is, Spectator.  Just checked the draw sheet.  My last post duly corrected.  The perils of copying & pasting... disbelief

Congrats to Alexis & his father

coaches tom burn & brewer

interestingly 3 A1 Aegon team players have in the past all regularly hit with Alexis

jason Barnett , Matt Illingworth , Marcus Willis . I first met Alexis and his father when he was just 13 his father looked after the pro hitting partners extremely well & I was impressed by their professionalism . it's just a shame that more of our young GB players don't have the same attitude Or indeed the parental support and professionalism of his father i would describe it as unique

Well good luck to Alexis, and I mean that in the sense of the harder you work the luckier you get. Great that he has the support.

All the best to Alexis, whatever the full background and circumstances.

Congratulations on that first ranking win.

Yes. Big congrats to Alexis. A real important moment for a tennis player - must feel great.

But had Josh Goodall been got rid of, A1? Or do you mean he's just part-time (which obviously he was, as he had other commitments, although I assume Burn and Brewer do too) ? I noticed Josh hadn't tweeted about him for the last month or so (shortly after they got back from that pretty poor trip, in terms of results.... Ukraine maybe? from recollection, not completely sure). Because it had been pretty full on with Alexis and Josh before that.

Marcus has taken the first set 6-4

PS the final is scheduled for Sunday, so unless Marcus or Dan goes out early then they will not be back in time for Manchester Challengers
