Would have thought kyle's match is a virtual certainty to be on a tv court due to the fact he is playing a Frenchman. They seem to realise the crowds like watching the home players and so put them on the better courts, I would predict he will be on court 6 or 7.
Brad, re any Andy vs Kyle R3 match, I would want Andy to win. I am saying that as a huge Andy fan, and ( like many fans ) occasional critic. He does have the bigger fish to fry for now with a seeming renewed zest and still a fair amount of unfinished business. Some of that business very possibly on French clay.
Kyle's future stretches ahead, and hopefully he can have a great career, but he is not an overall contendor here, well certainly to my mind and I am sure most would agree..
A good match with both playing well and Kyle even nicking a set, just the one mind, would suit me fine if concluding with an Andy win.
Agreed. I support Kyle playing anybody else, but definitely not against Andy!
I thought that might be the general consensus. I'm all for an underdog and would love Kyle to get to R3, but I'd definitely favour Andy ahead of him in that match.
I think once Wimbledon rolls around it will be interesting to see how the British public (and the BBC, to a certain extent) react to Bedene.
Thiem has just won his first ATP title in Nice defeating Leo Mayer in a near 3 hour final. His match against Aljaz will be on Monday so not much recovery time for him but on the other hand he should be in a good place mentally.
I am pretty conflicted on who I want to win the match. I am a fan of Thiem's game and he seems like a great lad as well .

I really hope they televise the game.
With games via livescore etc., I support on a rather basic nationality basis (with other occasional random factors thrown in).
But as soon as I start watching a game, I want the player who's playing the best to win. It's all in the tennis.
It gets me truly irate when the undeserving one manages to win. (Of course, it's undeserving, as defined by me, which is truly subjective but it's my support so that's fine . . .).
There are only a real couple of players who I don't want to win, no matter if they are heads above their opponent.
So I'll go for Aljaz, no question.
Unless ITV4 or whoever have the match on and Thiem is playing a dream (there's a joke in there somewhere) and deserves the win, no question.
Well done to Dominic on his win but that said I hope he is absolutely cream crackered and ready for a first round hiccough. I would not be gutted if Kyle beat Andy but can't see it happening and hoping Andy wins it outright, he's in very good form but probably still behind Joc and Rodge.
My feeling is that when Kyle is good enough to beat Andy he will be at a level where he will stand a good chance of going very deep in a slam and the decision as to who to support will be more straight forward, can't say im loosing too much sleep at the moment but to see Kyle in the third round would be fantastic regardless of the outcome.

I heard it would be Tuesday. It's a toss-up - Thiem is in good form, but could be fatigued/have dropped off the high.
I'm looking forward to supporting Mr Bedene - and Mr Edmund ... unless he has to play Mr Murray, in which case like others, I'll be switching allegiance.
Speaking of allegiance, it's rather sad that, at a guess, some elements of the tabloid press will spend the next few weeks simultaneously scaremongering around the dangers of Scotland and immigrants ... and waving the flag for the lovely team of British players in the French Open: Mr Murray - a Scot; Mr Bedene - a Slovenian immigrant; Mr Edmund - a South African immigrant; Ms Watson - a Channel Islander, trained in the US, daughter of a PNG immigrant; and Ms Konta - Australia-born and of Hungarian descent.
He does seem a really nice guy and I suspect will be a grower with us generally.
The fact that he is for now overall a little way from the top of those who we, all things being equal, take most interest in is inevitable, when many of us have closely followed the ups and downs of other players for years.
