RE: Weeks 21-22 - French Open - Roland Garros Men's Main Draw (Clay)

That 5-8 section is looking rather dangerous for Wimbledon.

A champion's performance, at the end of the day. Amazing.

Scorching final !!!!

A real blitz of a match.

And so we have both champions being in their thirties . . .

Really well done, Stan !

Andy's overall Slam record ( finals, semi finals, quarter finals ), plus his Masters record, absolutely dominates all the other current top players outside the 'big 4'.

But in the rather biggee of Slam singles titles Stan also now has 2.

Over to you, Andy !

So happy to see Stan that win that. When he is playing well his tennis is a joy to behold and he has proven beyond doubt that his Aussie Open win was no fluke. This season has also been a little boring up to now with Nole winning everything in sight so this is even more welcome that it would normally be.

Re the rankings and potential top 4 seeds for Wimbledon, that does put Stan up to WR 4 (5835), ahead of Nishikori WR 5 (5570) and Berdych WR 6 (5050). Ferrer WR 7 (4490) and Raonic WR 8 (4440) complete the current very clear top 8 ranked.

We do though still first have the ATP 500 Queen's and Halle events to come and the Wimbledon grass adjustment formula to do its best / worst.

Not sure how the Wimbledon draw works but with Nadal now 10 in the world he ll bump into the top 4 in the quarters or even last 16 depending on how that works out.

Nadal would have to be outside the top 12 seeds to potentially meet a top 4 seed in the last 16 and I don't see much if any chance of that.

Seeds 1-4 meet 13-16 and 5-8 meet 9-12.

Taking into account the formula I make Stan well over 400 points ahead of Nishikori. Unless Nishikori wins Halle then Wawrinka should be seeded 4 unless he loses in the first round of Queen's. If Wawrinka makes the final of Queen's or Nishikori fails to make the final of Halle then Wawrinka will be seeded 4 regardless of what the other one does.
