Fran Jones marked up a cracker, taking out the top seed in two easy sets

Fran def. (1) Helen Altick (USA) 4-2 4-2

(and, no, it's not a typo - they were playing short sets due to bad weather).

you're welcome smile

But I might have been misleading (not the best post, my previous one, reading it back) : just to be clear, Fran's wasn't the final - they're all backed up with bad weather so she's only into the semis now.

Although well done to her for beating the top seed anyway !!! smile

Hungary G4 SF

(6) Johana Markova (CZE) d. (8) Francesca Jones 4-0 5-3

Ali's conqueror won the title. In theory Ali and Fran are top seeds in the doubles, but that may have been abandoned

Ah, something that Ali's R1 conquerer appears to have been a bit of a qualifier ringer.
