I'm not a great Konta fan but even I can't see her losing tomorrow - if only from the fact that as well as the French girl has done to reach the FQR and will have crowd support (if there is a crowd?) she may not have much left in the tank for tomorrow given that she has had to come from behind in both her matches. On that alone Konta has to be the favourite but I've been proved wrong before.
And Clothilde is from Corsica, and very proud to be so. (If I remember right, she tried going to one of the mainland elite academies, in Paris, I think. And hated it. And promptly went straight home !)
So the Bastia lot will be out in force - and they like to be vocal !!!!
But she's been rather disappointing as an adult (although that might be partly because her training was messed around slightly). But, given the form of JoKo, de Bernardi shouldn't be anything at all that the Brit can't handle, and hopefully with ease . . .

Perhaps she won't fear Joko given that she has already beaten DeBrito - nothing to lose.
If Naomi was at her best yesterday then today she was probably nearly at her worst. It was a shame because in the first 6 games it was fairly close just a matter of very fine margins with Rodionova hitting a lot of lines and Naomi missing by a few millimetres often on serves and backhands. At 2-1 down Naomi played a really good return game with 2 winners to start and then got on top in the next rally but played a poor dropshot, a return then went inches long and she didn't get the break back.
By the time it got to about 5-1 Naomi seemed to be getting more and more frustrated and annoyed with herself and seemed to basically talk herself from playing not great to playing really badly and she fell apart in the 2nd set with error after error. To be fair to Rodionova she returned very well and got on top in a lot of rallys early although Naomi didn't seem to make many first serves.
It was a shame because if Naomi had played as well as yesterday she would have had a good chance of progressing. Still a pretty good week for her overall and hopefully she can play like she did on Wednesday over the grass court season.
Jo again played pretty well I thought. Her match seemed very low key and quiet early on, both players were quite inconsistent playing some good points followed by errors from both players. The key part of the match was when Jo held from 0-40 at 5-6. I think the first set point saved was an error from her opponent but after that there were three unreturned serves and the one that did come back was put away for a winner. This seemed to unsettle her opponent and Jo played a good tiebreak again serving very well. I went to watch the end of Kyle's match after that and came back to see Jo serve out the match comfortably.
One thing I noticed about Jo's serve which I have never noticed before is that she sets up to serve about 6-8 inches away from the baseline but then doesn't drag her foot at all when she serves, so she is essentially serving from quite a bit further away than she needs to. Presumably she thinks she serves better from further away (and she certainly served well today), but I don't really remember seeing anyone do that before.
I'm not remotely surprised by your description of Naomi's performance. I've noticed her behave in a similar fashion several times over the last 12 months.
