Surely just one other player could drop out before all the matches kick off tomorrow?
To have Dan S miss out by ONE lousy place last year, and Ed miss out by one lousy place this year is just too sad . . . (after all, we don;t have that many that we can afford to drop one by the wayside - if France were true gentlemanly hosts, they'd ask one of their players to quit - after all, they can afford to lose a couple . . . )
Incidentally, lovely (as always) to see Andy tweeting his support for all four, including Brydan, who incidentally was rooming with Liam and Bambo, I think (or staying sort of together, or whatever) when in Uzbekistan. Hopefully, there's a good vibe in the GB camp tonight and they can feed off each other . . .
I don't think you have to enter the main draw, you are 'entered'. But Chung was outside the top 100 at entry date, didn't make the cut and forgot to enter qualifying.
As a berater of Slam MD QCs, but certainly NOT QUALIFYING WCS, I am happy for him
It's good that up and coming players who might not make the qualifying cut ( or forget! ) are given a chance to qualify for what should be the elite. I certainly wouldn't want to see potential stars denied any chance.
And even home players coming through ( when they occasionally do ) the Q WC route will have earned a MD place by qualifying for it.
