So we start an event with five GB players, including Dan Smethurst and Marcus Willis.

And in round two we've only got three left - with no Dan and no Willis . . . who'd have thunk it . . .

Good luck to Marcus W junior, Joe and Robbie.

Think you might be forgetting Luke Power.  Perhaps you ran out of fingers at five LOL, although you wouldn't be the first to get caught out by Brit v Brit ties when counting the number of players participating.

Anyway, we are down to two players now.

Robbie lost 3&3 to Pulgar Garcia (of the Javier variety)

Joe has just started.

Joe seems to be our best hope of having another top 500 target even above Luke and Josh WH. Seems to have the best serve certainly of that group below 500.

Certainly looking forward to seeing Joe on the grass this year. As you suggest, his game seems suited to the faster surface.  Haven't given up on Luke and JWH just yet though. Also hoping the Farris and Cameron reappear once their college commitments have been completed for the year.

How beat a couple of top 200 players last year didn't he or am I confused with someone else?

I've been dying for one of the Brits to encounter this particular Springbok in the draw:

QF:  Lloyd Harris (RSA) WR 1435 (= CH) vs Joe Salisbury WR 777

His full name, according to the ITF LS, is "Lloyd George Muirhead Harris"! rolleyes.gif

Was it last year or the year before ?  The name Grigelis springs to mind, but I am not sure.  #GettingOld  #MemoryGoing

How equals Joe. Oops predictor text often means typos and mistakes. Think I managed to say a completely different sentence in the past with it. I once had a girlfriend whose name on the old mobile phone clicks was the same 5 buttons used as my then current one. Made life a bit tricky. Remember in those days it was actually easier to text at speed! Using keyboards on touch screens is clumsy as I regularly prove.
