Big chance for some big points for Rich this week. The draw has really opened up.

Poor Richard is in the game of a nightmare.

Lost the first set 12-10 in the TB.

Won the next one 7-5.

Now the Pole is serving for the match at 5*-4

Saved two MPs. Had a BP.

But lost 6-4.

Those big points not happening this week . . .

and still has doubles to come, I think . . .

My mistake:  I somehow managed to misread it!    Amended!

I now know what I did:  the score I originally posted was the Pole's from the previous round! disbelief

Rich finishes off a truly over-tennised day with a win in the doubles.

He'll be seeing tennis balls in his sleep . .

Rich and Scott win 6-4 6-3

QF:  (1) Scott Clayton & Richard Gabb CR 666 (312+354) defeated Daniel Appelgren & Marcus Mansson (SWE/SWE) UNR by 4 & 3

******

SF:  (1) Scott Clayton & Richard Gabb CR 666 (312+354) vs Jonathan Mridha & Fred Simonsson (SWE/SWE) UNR

Jon & Fred beat Scott & Richard in three sets at the same stage last week, so time for a spot of revenge, methinks.  They advanced to the semis courtesy of a walkover against the Podzus twins (3).

Yes, it did look ( well was ) a good opportunity for at least SF points.

Even these QF points Richard has been picking up over recent weeks have just been adding a net 1 each time since he has a full quota of 18 counters. Frustrating ...

I think the plateau for Rich has been reached. He seems to be the next level down from the Dans Alex and Marcus. 500 limit ranking. Again maybe doubles might be the way forward. Seems to do well with Scott
