Naomi and Pliskova won their doubles 10-6 in the MTB

Into the QFs....


NB I remember Naomi's exploits at Wimbly last year very well - but maybe that's just sad . . . However, yes, I'd be very happy to see her get a WC on the basis of it (and I'm not really a fan of Naomi's tennis). And Joko. And definitely a MD doubles WC for Emily W-S. And anyone else we can even faintly justify. And, of course, zillions of Q WCs. But then I really like WCs

Good to see Mestach homing back in on the top 100 after her long injury lay-off: hopefully Laura will be able to follow suit :)

Good also to see her and Em carrying on their dubs partnership from Gifu; fingers crossed they get to the final here too (and meet Naomi there!)...

Em and An-Spohie won their doubles match easily, and are also in the semis, playing the top seeds (amazingly, the four teams left are the top four seeds . . . )
