But no . . . so it's a third-set tie-break . . .

that could NOT have been closer - Neil always up at the start - then 4-5 down - but wins three points and takes it 7-6(5)

the top seed has withdrawn so , if Neil could get past Podzus, it's the fifth and not the first seed that would be his opponent for the semis . ..

Ric and Scott cruising in their doubles at the moment . ..

SF:  (1) Scott Clayton & Richard Gabb CR 663 (307+356) vs Jonathan Mridha & Fred Simonson (SWE/SWE) UNR

Richard & Scott are the only seeds left in the draw:  the fourth seeds lost in the first round & the second seeds gave an unranked Swedish/Norwegian pair a walkover into the semis, while their opponents did for the third seeds, Brunström & Eriksson, in three sets in their QF!

Phew! That was a bit close for comfort! Sounds like it was windier than Eastbourne on a bad day...with a bit of rain in the mix too. Fingers crossed for a win tomorrow - especially after seeing the walkover for the 5th seed! If you beat 1 twin - surely should be able to beat the other though?!

Of course if they are identical, you could be playing the same one again and never know it  biggrin

Not sure I want that to happen! Did not enjoy 6 in the 3rd today!

Rich was *2-0 up in the second but got pegged back to 2-2. He then had further BPs in game 6 but couldn't convert. Currently *3-3.

Neil has just got the first break in his match to lead *4-3 in the 1st set.

Very competitive from Rich against the 2nd seed, but Linzer runs out the winner 6-4 7-5.

Neil, intent on increasing Sherbert's stress levels, loses the break 7-5.
