RE: Week 17 - Spain F11 ($10,000) - Móstoles (Hard)

Oh Yes. And there's more good news. After the match, the on court photographer introduced himself and said there would be a match report on is site, probably tomorrow. It will be in Spanish but google translate can help with that one.

More importantly, Marcus asked if there would be pictures. The guy replied with the magic word - VIDEO.

I doubt very much that it will be the full match, but hopefully there should be some juicy highlights. The website is www.realsport.es/

I will try and remember to check it tomorrow and provide a link to any clips.

Thanks Bob! What a match! Great to see the hard work paying off. So will we get a report on the trip to the airport too?

The truth is, I was terrified of getting lost on the way and causing Marcus to miss his flight.  Meanwhile he was busy messaging everyone he could think of LOL. We arrived 50 mins before he was due to take off.

Is there a way we can find out how Marcus does in this team tennis thingy in France he was flying to?

I'll leave CD to answer that one. He is the expert on all things French.

Personally I will be amazed if Marcus can get out of bed tomorrow morning, let alone play a match at 9am.

Been working all day, just got home, and your reports, Bobcat, are magic.

Sounds just brilliant.

And SO considerate of Marcus to realise that some of the Spanish would not have been happy about moving the time forward, so he spun it out as long as he possibly could, so the spectators all got chance to come along and catch some tennis anyway!

And, yes, GBJ, I'll let you know how Marcus gets on in his team match tomorrow, assuming he plays. In theory, he'll be down for a singles AND a doubles, almost positive.

Sounds like a weekend and a half

Checked out the website this morning and got excited when I saw a video of the Mostoles tournament.  Bottom video on this link.

However, it turns out to be last years final. Bit early yet for anything from yesterday's final. The good news is that the clip is 9 mins long so a good chance of a really decent highlights package when it finally goes online. Mind you, given yesterday's events, it might take the guy a year to edit the highlights.

Also, once it is up, I will be emailing him to see if there is any way he can upload the entire match to Youtube.

Next up for Marcus is a 2 week training block before heading off to either Egypt, Portugal or Turkey. The good news is, that Dan S is apparently recovering and if all goes well, he will be traveling with Marcus to these tournaments.

Mostly, but there is also a Challenger in Turkey at the same time that Marcus is considering.

Thank you so much for the great report, Bob. It's SO much better than a few lines which couldn't possibly convey the drama.

Apologies if I've missed this or there's an obvious answer, but why is he choosing to continue with Futures - is the prize money a factor? I'm struggling to understand the strategy.

Marcus is currently ranked around 400.  This  is not high enough to get direct entry in to Challenger events. His strategy seems sensible enough - a mixture of Futures and the occasional entry into Challenger qualies.
