RE: Week 17 - ITF ($25K) - Wiesbaden, Germany Clay

Save three break points but lose it on deuce, and it's back on serve

4-3*

Another pretty bad smash miss from Nik in that game, and this is way tighter than it should be, and Tara has gone over her ankle

*5-5

Very lucky there, miss two game points, then one of the German kills gets off balance on the slide and fires a routine backhand long at deuce

6-5*

Both girls blast weak second serve returns into the net.

Into a MTB we go, 6-2 6-7(3) 0-0*

Got very tight there. Made a lot of trouble for themselves in this match

Well, they got there!

*1-0
3-0*
*3-2
5-2*
*7-2
8-3*
*9-4

GSM to the Brits, 6-2 6-7(3) 10-4

Have to say, the German kid who is just outside the top 50 in juniors looked pretty good. Tara and Nik were very good when they relaxed, but they got quite tight and both of their forehands completely disappeared for a good while. The Germans opened the MTB with a double and the Brits were much more solid.

Thanks for all the info Paul.

With Nik I do feel there is rather a lot of 'could have, should have', but her getting tight at key times I feel has dogged her .

Good to win one like that, well done ladies.

QF: (3) Tara Moore & Nicola Slater CR 542 (327+215) beat (WC) Jil Nora Engelman & Katharina Hobgarski (GER/GER) UNR 6-2 6-7(3) [10-4]

SF: (3) Tara Moore & Nicola Slater CR 542 (327+215) vs (2) Cindy Burger & Veronika Karshay (NED/UKR) CR 529 (323+206)

Their SF is scheduled after the two singles SFs at not before 2pm BST with the doubles final ( after rest ) at not before 4 pm BST. The number 1 seeds got through to that yesterday.

They took the first set 6-1.

The no 1 seeds have now woken up and so Tara an Nik are now trailing 1-4 in the second set

Good that the number one seeds have woken up, they've a final to play later, hopefully against Tara and Nik.

Nik and Tara won't get to play the No 1 seeds, losing their semi 1-6, 6-3, (10-6)
