L16: (7) Kyle Edmund WR 130 beat Pedja Krstin (SRB) WR 322 (CH = 228 in November last year) 6-1 2-6 6-4 L16: (Q) Gianluca Naso (ITA) WR 380 (CH = 175 in July 2012) beat (2) Aljaz Bedene WR 94 7-6(6) 6-4
QF: (7) Kyle Edmund WR 130 vs (4) Kimmer Copperjans (BEL) WR 123 (=CH)
Kyle and Kimmer are the two highest ranked players left in the tournament. The only other seed left in is (8) Checchinato. But as we have seen, on the red stuff, that counts for very little.
The H2H says they have never played but I am sure they will have played in the juniors many times. Play starts at 12 noon UK time and Kyle is 2nd match on.
Small note re the thread title, this is a 42,500+H tournament rather than just 42,500.
And it's the extra ranking points that that '+H' gives the winner of the title ( 90 rather than 80 ) that would take Kyle above James in the rankings if he won the title here.
That-s a shame. But I wonder if that means Aljaz will head to Madrid for qualies like Wardy apparently has.
Personally I would suggest that he is more likely to be heading to Rome where he is entered into next week's challenger as opposed to going to a tournament that he did not enter.

That would make sense. Just wishful thinking on my part. I really should do some research beforepurting my foot in my mouth.
