It's a shame that Kyle and Aljaz are in the same half of the draw, although I'd happily take the two meeting!

I was thinking how lovely it was to have two GB players highly enough ranked to be seeded, so that they wouldn't inevitably meet in the 1st round!

And in the doubles:

R1:  (3) Patrick Grigoriu & Costin Pavel (ROU/ROU) CR 408 (200+208) vs Aljaz Bedene & Dave Rice CR 786 (580+206)
R1:  Andrea Arnaboldi & Matteo Viola (ITA/ITA) CR 444 (251+193) vs (2) Sandro Motti (ITA) & Sean Thornley CR 313 (132+181)

Good on Dave! smile  It will be interesting to see how that pair fares.

It's easy to take the glass half empty approach and I'm very much a 40 points man first before worrying about Europe. But, my general feeling is that it is nice to be having these concerns and not following Liam and Kyle on the ITF website.

Despite the odd hiccup we have moved on significantly from this time last year with Kyle and Liam now both regular challenger players with Kyles seeding suggesting he should always be in the mix late in the week and indeed through the weekend on form. A bit more consistency and hopefully bu the end of the year he will join Aljaz and James Ward in seeking out ATP 250 DEs. Aljaz becoming British has also made Dan Evan's struggles easier to bare. Brydan has a realistic chance of joining them as a regular on the challenger tour.

Potential for some interesting match ups for Kyle with former junior rivals Coppejans and Quinzi assuming he gets through R1.

This one seems to have slipped through the net, which given the result, may not be such a bad thing.

QR2: (7) Dave Rice WR 426 lost to Dino Marcan (CRO) WR 584 0-6 3-6

Kyle first up tomorrow at 10am UK time but on an outside court, so maybe no live stream.

Unfortunately it looks like there won't be any livestreaming from Turin - it's not listed on the ATP LS site  hmm

But Kyle's match is up on livescoring.  Still in the first game, Kyle serving at 30-30

And his match now appears to have disappeared from the Bet365 website...

Cancel that. It looks like no more play today. Tomorrow's OoP is out and both Kyle and Aljaz are on the list.
