Kyle is now one of only two seeds left standing in the draw after the Chilean qualifier, Hans Podlipnik, removed Kimmer Coppejans (5) in straight sets in their just completed first round match! The Italian sixth seed, Marco Cecchinato, is the other.
Challengers are I am pretty sure where seeds have least overall success. Being more of a level playing field than ATP tour above them and futures below, a lot of the seeding losses are no great shocks. Still, pretty high attrition rate here this week.
Missed the 2nd set but that looks like a really solid result from Kyle. Good chance for him this week, but as has been said already, on the red stuff, anything can happen.
Kyle still needs net 100pts to make it into the top 100, but with very little to defend.
Definitely on, given his form in challengers.
Could we have 4 male direct acceptees for Wimbledon?
Next up it looks like the very experienced Spaniard.
Paulisi, I thought you were being very optimistic with 4 direct entries, but I presume you have included Ajax in your total.
As well as perhaps getting into Wimbledon main draw, Kyle must also have a good chance of making it through to R1 at RG which would be an achievement in itself.
Kyle only has 8 points to defend upto end of May (which must be about Wimbledon cut-off?) so definitely should be able to improve his ranking if he can continue his form

Don't you just hate the auto-correct function sometimes
As for the Wimbledon cut off date, someone posted here that it is in the middle of May (don't remember the exact date - 18th ?) but it gives Kyle probably 3 or 4 tournaments to get the points he needs. He also has his Vercelli points to come off from last year. Here is a summary of points to come off prior to Wimbledon.
27/4 : 18 (Vercelli)
18/5 : 6 (Heilbronn)
18/5 : 2 (GB F11)
After cut off but before Wimbledon
15/6 : 8 (Notts CH 2)
Of course he has almost covered his Vercellli points with his performance this week where he has gained 15 points. Kyle has reached the same stage as last year, but in 2014, he gained 3 additional points from coming through qualies. In the MD last year, he actually beat "Ajax" in the first round.
So MD of Wimbledon as a DA on ranking will be difficult, but certainly not impossible.

A half decent run in a couple of challengers and a decent French Open qualifying could be enough....
Kyle is playing:
Turin Wk 17 42.5K+H where he will be seeded
Rome Wk 18 42.5K+H where he will be seeded
Wk 19 - doesn't seem to be on entries for challengers in Europe, but is an alternative for qualifying in Rome Masters
